Government Relations

Our Government Relations team’s experience combined with our deep and trusted relationships with members of Congress, their staff, and Administration officials have allowed Families USA to play an influential role in the consideration, passage, and implementation of all major health legislation over the last several decades, including the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and reauthorization of the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

State and National Strategic Partnerships

The State and National Strategic Partnerships team works with stakeholders across the country and in Washington, D.C. including advocates, health care industry representatives, and policymakers to join together in shared efforts to achieve health policy goals for consumers. By leading national coalitions and supporting the work of state-based advocates, the team creates a movement for improved health coverage and value and achieving health equity.

Policy

Our independent, expert, and consumer-focused policy research and analysis helps policymakers and partners better understand the impact of health policy proposals on vulnerable populations. We translate complex policy concepts and findings to ensure they resonate with their intended audiences, and to make them understandable and “actionable” for decisionmakers. Our experts are frequently called upon to analyze complex policy problems, to develop creative solutions, to testify in Congress and in state legislatures, and to inform the debate in Washington and at the state level.

Communications

Families USA’s communicators are strategic experts in an array of functions and disciplines, who use communications to elevate Families USA as the voice of health care consumers across our functions, channels, mediums, and target audiences to raise visibility, influence policies, and to uphold the integrity of the Families USA brand. We are respected as trusted messengers who stay grounded in the consumer experience by working with a consumer-first approach to communications; we hold ourselves and others accountable to high standards of leadership, quality, excellence, and integrity; we uphold the consumer voice foremost with pride and honor; and we relentlessly pursue authentic, two-way engagement with intention and deliberation.
