Health Justice Now Webinar Series Part 2: Community Voice And Equitable Policymaking: Lessons Learned From COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution

This is part 2 of the Health Justice Now series.

Since Spring 2021, Families USA has worked to address COVID-19’s devastating impact on people of color and its linkages to existing structural inequities in our health and economic systems. As part of this effort, our team conducted focus groups with community leaders, as well as surveys and interviews with Medicaid beneficiaries, to elevate lessons learned during the pandemic and identify successful strategies that can advance the effectiveness of future health efforts.

During this webinar, Families USA and our partner, Symphonic Strategies, highlight major findings from this research and identify how states can center community needs in policy decisions to ameliorate –rather than exacerbate – health inequalities. These findings aid our understanding of what successful implementation, communication, and policy strategies developed during COVID-19 should be sustained to address long-standing structural inequities.
